How to do a colon cleanse at home

A clogged intestine can create severe health problems. Cleansing the bowel is imperative to getting on the road to better health. A colon cleanse at home can rid the digestive system of toxic build up. Surprisingly, many items that can be used to do a safe colon cleanse are in the cabinets at home.

First, a pure water enema can be used to get toxins moving out of the bowel. Enemas have been around for thousands of years. The pure water enema is great for relieving constipation. It is best to start out slow. On the first day, you can do a lower cleanse of the colon at home. One cup or quart of water is enough to get the lower cleanse going. The water should be either filtered or distilled. Or the tap water can simply be boiled on the stove for about 30 minutes.

Next, the water needs to be cooled to room temperature. Then, the preparation can begin. A private place is necessary to perform this colon cleanse at home. Additionally, a large towel, a rag, enema bucket or bag, almond or coconut oil, and non chlorinated water.

Also, the enema equipment needs to be put together correctly. It is important to adjust the height adequately. The oil will be used to lubricate the anus. This tissue is delicate and needs to be protected. Then, the insertion portion of the tube needs to be held over a toilet or bath tub. The bag or bucket should then be filled with the water. Additionally, the tube should not contain air bubbles or pockets. Once all of the air has been removed, the valve should be clamped to block the flow of water.

3 ways to cleanse your colon

You cleanse out part of your colon every time you have a bowel movement. But to cleanse your colon is more than just a normal everyday elimination of food wastes.

You need to recognize how digestion works in your body. It starts with chewing and mixing with saliva in your mouth. Then the food mixture passes through your esophagus and into your stomach.  Specific enzymes break the food down further into components your body can access at the cellular level. In your small intestines your body absorbs these nutrients into the bloodstream for circulation to all of the cells in your body.

Materials that are not absorbed continue into the large intestines where more moisture is absorbed as the food waste passes through to your colon from which it is expelled from your body. In the structure of your small intestines there are thousands of tiny villae (like little fingers) that perform the absorption process. It is in the little convoluted parts of your intestines, both large and small that some particles become packed, or impacted.

These form a crust that reduces nutrient absorption and builds up with toxins and waste attached to the walls of your intestines. When you take the time to cleanse your colon, you are giving your body a chance to rid itself of these impacted and energy draining waste products.
