Mom, what is colon cleansing?  I’m supposed to tell you I need one and then write a report on it.”

“Are you sure it was “colon cleasing”? Son and not colon cleansing?” replied Mom with smirk.

And that was the beginning of a miserable night for me.  My mom was smarter than me and the teacher both and made me drink some funny juice and then sit down in the kitchen to write my report before I did anything else.  I swore I wasn’t going to clease or cleanse nobody’s colon whatever that was.

I didn’t know she went and called another Mom to  find out if it really was true. Then they both chuckled and said it would be a good way for me to find out and it would be a good way for me to “clean up my act”. That is what they said.

Before I could use the Internet for research I had to look it up in some big old books that Grandma had in her room. So I got permission to lug them to the kitchen, thinking I’d get this thing done quick and go hang with my buds.

Mom kept giving me more to drink, saying it would help my research. I was dumb enough to think it was some fancy brain juice to make me think faster.  After a while I learned there was no such thing as colon cleasing.  It really was colon cleansing the teacher was talking about. And I’m starting to wonder what is a doggone colon anyhow and how do you clean it?

Pretty soon I was spending a lot of time in the bathroom and doing more stinking than thinking. I sure enough found out what a colon is, where it is and how to get it cleaned out real good. That’s what my colon cleasing or colon cleansing report turned out to be about.
