Colonic Cleanse – Healthy Colons are cleaned regularly

“Death begins in the colon” was the high point in the career of Nobel Prize winner Ilya Mechnikov, Russian bacteriologist, about a hundred years ago. It was around that time that colonic cleanses for healthy colons became a more common practice particularly among the well-to-do and well-educated populace.

No one wanted to talk about it but colonic cleanse clinics were appearing in Europe and the US for the purpose of improving the health of their clients. The practice of cleansing the colon with water goes back into ancient Greek and Egyptian and Indian history.

Think about it. Your colon serves the function as the elimination system for solid wastes in your body.  You gain access to the colon either at the entry point, the longest route or at the exit point, the closest position.  The early colonic cleanse involved hydrotherapy to expel the wastes from your colon and clean the walls of your intestines of built up wastes that had not been eliminated already.

In its simplest form it is an enema. However, colonic cleanse is a little more sophisticated than that today. Water temperatures are carefully regulated to minimize patient discomfort and the environment is made more appealing to contemporary patients.

A thorough colonic cleanse will remove the thick colonic mucus plaque that clogs the intestinal walls and uses water without additional chemicals to essentially clear the way for a renewed approach to eating properly to prevent its build up again.

If the whole idea of going to a spa or clinic to expel your wastes is repulsive to you, perhaps you will look into some smaller scale but safe home cleansing programs to maintain your privacy while you restore your health.
